People and Their Blogs

I have run into an astounding number of people over the last few weeks
whether I've been standing in line after the show greeting patrons in a three-cornered hat,
or walking around on campus twirling and avoiding being inside,
or whatever
and people keep telling me that they read my blog.
Sometimes people that I didn't even know!
And I know what usually happens is like this:

You: I read your blog!
Me: [Ducks head into right shoulder or covers face with hands, lets out embarrassed, excited, nervous, kind of unattractive snort while attempting to take in this incredibly loving moment]
Silence

Those of you who have contacted me via e-mail or Facebook have had the advantage of missing out on my awkwardness and receiving a much more polished e-mail reply.
But how it should go when I see you, is:

You: I read your blog!
Me: [Screams] Thank you for reading because I love your guts and I love to share something with you, you magnanimous individual that I am lucky to know! [Screams again and hugs you]

I think sometimes I at least get the hug in there.

Thank you thank you thank you for reading.
It makes me as happy as a clam that you come here and read my way-too-long sentences and extreme exhaustion of the word awesome.
It's awesome.

If you ever come here to read, and I don't know you, or I don't know that you've been here but I know you because I know you in real life, please come out of the woodwork and leave a comment or follow or call me or hug me in person or friend me on Facebook--and most importantly, if you have a blog, please link yourself in the comments! There is nothing I love more than people, and their blogs. I would love to know you.

And on that note, I am going to go eat some oatmeal squares and a banana and then I am going to carve some pumpkins with my family. I suck at carving pumpkins, because I am impatient.

HEY I READ YOUR BLOG AND LOVE YOU IN A THREE CORNERED HAT!

Also, I am a bad blogger and don't blog hardly ever anymore. Case in point, my bad grammar in these last two sentences.

I shall blog in November, though. I have determined it. Or something.

Also, I love you.

I read your blog!!!

(screams and jumps up and down) It's AWESOME, and I love your long-winded sentences and your use of the word AWESOME, just because it is AWESOME!

YAY!

Julie,

I shamelessly read your blog and I always love it. But being the stalker-face that I am, I seriously miss your clothes blog because you did very creative things with earrings and bracelets. (LIKE MAKE SWEATER CLIPS.)

Sincerely,
Haley

Girl, you got it. Look at those comments. I enjoy your blog so very much. It makes me wish I would get out of my shell a little, and maybe also learn how to be funny, like you. I also think I should brush up on my grammar, but this post won't prove the desire (since it's already poorly written). You're swell. Keep 'em comin'. I have a blog, but I don't know how to link it. Let me know if you wanna read it. This is too long... I guess you spoke to me ;) ha

I read your blog and you don't know me!
But I know we have SOME friend in common.
I think it's Becky.
Or Alisha.
Maybe both?

Cool. Glad that's out in the open.
I love your words, so thanks.

Long-time reader; first-time caller.

A few months ago, I was walking across the quad to go to the BYU Bookstore when I saw you walking (not twirling) in the opposite direction. My first instinct was to give you a big, hearty "Hi, Julie!" But then I remembered you wouldn't have the slightest idea who I was. (Jenny's brother.)

So, instead I let you pass without giving you so much as an unattractive snort. I apologize for that. Yes, it probably would have created a Great Black Hole of Awkward (I can out-awkward you any day of the week), but I owed it to you to tell you how much I've enjoyed reading your blog.

So, let me tell you now that I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed reading your blog.

Thank you.

I have an idea, how about for the next 41 days you post something new. You see, I read your blog, and well, in Russia there isn't really anything else to do but blog stalk, so you posting every day will keep me entertained. Think about it. Ok? Ok.
